Italians do EAT better at Zonzo

It’s hard to imagine leaving the table hungry once you sit down to a meal at the rustic dining hall at Zonzo.

Set amongst sweeping views of the vineyard, on an impressively manicured estate. This is a feast for the senses as much as it is a feast for the pallet.

A traditional Italian antipasto is the perfect way to start this Italian gastronomic journey, and these guys know exactly what goes into making the perfect platter. Eggplants and zucchini grilled to perfection, full of flavour cured meats, olives and imported Italian cheese – and a variety of other mouth-watering morsels – all served with their “casalinga” house made bread.

Antipasto misto – prosciutto, capocollo, gorgonzola, bocconcini, cerignola olives, sun-dried tomato, pickled onions and artichoke hearts, grilled eggplant and zucchini, served with house-made bread

We’re almost full…. until we see the pizza!

Pizza con Carciofi – tomato, mozzarella, gorgonzola, rocket, prosciutto, and artichoke hearts

Pizza Bianca con Salmone Affumicata – Olive oil base, smoked Tasmanian salmon, sautéed leek and berry capers

Pizza con Sopressa – Tomato base, mozzarella, hot salami, Kalamata olives and basil

Like any good Italian mother, the staff at Zonzo will feed you until you are full…and then serve you another pizza or two. After a morning of wine tasting through the Valley though, there’s no complaints from us. Our tour groups receive a bounty of the most popular pizza selections from the menu, including the indulgent four cheese pizza; hot Italian Salami; and smoked Tasmanian salmon, all served with a refreshing rocket and parmesan salad.

Picturesque vineyard views at Zonzo Estate

‘Zonzo’ in Italian means ‘to wander’ and with such inspiring views, and now a full belly, that’s exactly what we plan to do.
