Bluestone Lane Vineyard Profile: Have A Laugh With Your Tipple
Connoisseurs will want you to believe that wine tours are purely about the sampling and appreciating of fine whites and reds. Let’s face it though; it’s about the feel good vibes you get from a tipple (or three), too.
Bluestone Lane Vineyard is all about creating that ideal atmosphere. Here you’ll get generous serves of the type of quality wine you’d expect from the Mornington Peninsula, and generous laughs – what else could you want out of a day in the vineyards?

Bluestone Lane
How It All Began: A Dream Born Over 15 Years Ago
The story goes that just over 15 years ago, Michael and Pauline Poulter looked across some less than impressive paddocks in Balnarring and saw something greater. If what they envisioned was a vibrant vineyard that produces one of the most versatile selections of wines on the Mornington Peninsula, among bluestone lanes reminiscent of Melbourne’s quirky cobbled laneways, then they’ve certainly achieved that dream.
Michael and Pauline have made smart decisions in the team they’ve built around them – especially with Cellarmaster John Harper and his wife, the charismatic Caroline. These two will keep you smiling while helping you taste your way through Bluestone Lane Vineyard’s finest.

Drink & Be Merry: Bluestone Lane’s Lengthy Wine List
Bluestone Lane Vineyard has made a name for themselves by offering a strong selection of different reds and whites. But it’s not just sheer choice that sets them apart, either; one taste of their quality produce and you’ll see why they’ve enjoyed so much success over the years.
Amongst the 15 or so chardonnays, dry reds, Savingnon Blancs, Pinot Grigios, merlots and more, 3 of our favourites are:
1. PINOT MEUNIER: Bluestone Lane is the proud producer of the Mornington Peninsula’s only Pinot Meunier, and they do it well. A light red wine, deliciously flavoured with cherries and savoury notes, it’s likely to become a fast favourite.
2. SPARKLING CUVEE: Made in the traditional French method champenoise (is there any other way?), this brilliant blend of chardonnay, pinot noir and meuniere is sure to leave its mark.
3. PINOT GRIGIO: If the thought of a beautifully balanced wine accented with notes of green apple, gooseberry and pear sounds too good to resist, it is. Luckily you won’t have to exercise your restraint when sampling this wonderful Pinot Grigio on your Bluestone Lane wine tour.

A Little Something Extra: Veraison Restaurant & $5 Cellar Door Pizzas
All that wine sampling can be hunger-inducing work, so it’s lucky Bluestone Lane Vineyard comes complete with the world-class Veraison Restaurant. The focus of this food is to use the freshest ingredients possible, meaning the menu is continually changing with each season.
Whenever you visit though, you can be sure that the fresh ingredients they source straight from the organic garden out the back will go into creating one amazing meal.
UPDATE: A recent cellar door addition is a pizza oven. Targeting the peckish taster, lovely pizzas are $5 a pop and are delivered in minutes
