Red Gum BBQ: Seriously Good American-Style BBQ
Address: 87 Arthur’s Seat Road, Red Hill, VIC 3937
Our recent visit to Red Gum BBQ
A fairly recent addition to the Mornington Peninsula, Red Gum BBQ is heating things up. Set in a large, converted shed, this place is fully dedicated to the BBQ experience. From the food to the rustic setting, the team have gone all out in creating one unique (and delicious) place to eat.

While they mainly focus on the grub, Red Gum BBQ makes sure to include a nice range of beverages to boost your BBQ. Their selection includes locally sourced wines as well as delicious craft beers and ciders.
Here’s where things get really interesting. Focussing on American-style BBQ food, their menu is loaded up with high quality meats, including pulled pork, beef brisket, baby back pork rib, and chicken. They’re all smoked using Australian hardwoods, then cooked 6-10 hours ahead of time, all in all creating amazing flavours that are to di(n)e for.
You don’t have to go full carnivore though, with delicious sides like mac ‘n’ cheese, beans, cornbread, fries and heaps more to make sure your hunger is well taken care of.
We enjoyed brisket, pulled pork, beans, broccoli and a couple of beers, seriously delicious
Red Gum BBQ perfectly emits a rustic, fun, and casual vibe. Here you can take a seat at one of the long, picnic-like tables within a charming converted shed, and just enjoy the simplicity of good food, good drinks, and good company.
What we like
Simply put, Red Gum seriously knows how to do a BBQ.
What we don’t like
What’s not to love? We can’t fault this place. Ok if we have to pick something, the hidden location is probably the only slight downside but we think it suits the place.
