A stunning place even from the drive in, the dining room itself is a bright and airy space with a high pitched roof and floor to ceiling windows that delivers amazing food in a bustling but fun setting. The food here is a take on modern Australian with an Italian twist, nothing super fancy, but hearty honest food and plenty of it. It’s all seasonal and much of the food is local, so the menu changes regularly. The feast here is huge and there are loads of options for ordering off the menu. It’s also attached to a brewery for beer and cider lovers, has a providore to browse and some overnight accommodation. You could probably guess but is is part of the Stones of Yarra Valley group.

The food here is really amazing, it doesn’t try to hard to be fancy, it uses great produce and simple techniques to create delicious, generous food. There’s a great selection of entrees, wood-fired pizzas and great meat and fish based mains. Slow cooked lamb shoulder is often a highlight.

Wines / Beverages

A top selection of wines from local producers is the highlight. There are many gems from smaller wineries that don’t have cellar doors themselves. There’s also the brewery to order beers and ciders from.

On the drive in there is an apple orchard to the right and vineyard over the back, as you approach you see the accommodation, which looks like something out of Tuscany and then the main building. It’s a stunning property right next to Stones. The dining room is large and well lit by natural light and there is a nice garden out the front.

What we like

The amazing food and the generosity of portion sizes. You won’t leave hungry that is for sure.

What we don’t like

It’s hard to get a booking as it’s well known and incredibly popular, and for good reason.
