Rob Dolan Wines is one of the closest wineries to Melbourne, located in Warrandyte South. It’s a perfect spot for a trip out of Melbourne that won’t take all day. A lovely place to spend an afternoon, there is a beautiful homestead, where the cellar door and function centre are located, overlooking a lovely lawn and vines. You can grab a tasting from their huge range of wines (which have something for most tastes and price points) then enjoy some lovely cheeses on the verandah or on the lawn.

Wines / Beverages
They have a huge range of wines as mentioned above:
Sparkling, Sauvignin, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Arneis, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sangiovese, Late Harvest Sauv Blan dessert wine & Muscat
Not only do they have a large number of wines, they also have a different ranges:
- True colours: entry level, cheapest wines ($16-$24)
- Black label: next tier up ($22-$27)
- White label: premium tier ($30-$35)
- Signature series: only made in certain vintages ($80)
So wines here are quite a lot cheaper (even for premium tier) than many wineries in the Yarra Valley. So if you are after a nice wine at a good price, Rob Dolan is a good option.

They don’t have an official restaurant here (they do have The Farm Yarra Valley for weddings, but that is a separate business), but they do have a selection of local cheeses and charcuterie where you can build your own platters. They are closely linked to the delicious Stone and Crow cheese brand and they have around 7 cheeses to choose from, plus charcuterie, various relishes and jellies, bread, crackers and olives. You can build a nice platter at a reasonable price to enjoy with your wine.

A lovely homestead with a large verandah and grassy area to relax and enjoy their wines and cheese. It’s a really pleasant spot.
What we like
They try to provide somewhere that you can hang around for the afternoon and they really nail it.
What we don’t like
It’s in a tricky spot to take wine tours, not really near either the main part of the Yarra Valley or the Upper Yarra (but perfectly suited for day trips from Melbourne)
