Paradigm Hill tasting line up

A visit to Paradigm Hill is an experience that will draw you into the winemaking process of a premium Peninsula producer. Winemaking is serious business for these guys, and the friendly cellar door staff here at Paradigm Hill are well equipped to tell you all about what makes their wines so great. You’ll leave feeling like you’re one step closer to becoming a wine connoisseur, or at least stock your cellar like one.

Winemaker Matt and owner George can get pretty technical about their wines, but what they’ll tell you when you stop-by for a tasting is all relevant to what you see and sip before you in the glass, and it’s fascinating.

Elegant labels of Paradigm Hill

Pinot Noir is what Paradigm Hill are best known for, and when we say “best known” we mean, Qantas have selected their L’ami sage Pinot Noir to serve to their first-class passengers. A great honour and one they’re pretty proud of, and once you taste it, you’ll understand why. Elegant, complex and delicious. Their Les cinq Pinot Noir, named after the 5 rows of vines dedicated to making this wine, is so sought after that it usually sells out shortly after release.

Not to be shown up, the Shiraz is also pretty amazing too, a parcel of which is grown specifically to make their beautifully delicate and aromatic Transition Rosè. Visitors will taste only four wines at this cellar door, but the quality of what you’ll taste is outstanding. Don’t take our word for it though, you’ll see these wines on the lists of some of the finest hatted restaurants all around Australia.

Views of the Paradigm Hill vines

It’s a long dirt road to travel to reach their cellar door, but you won’t be disappointed when you finally arrive. The north facing sloping vineyard is planted on ancient volcanic soils, and benefits beautifully from the cooling ocean breezes that sweep through the vines. The cellar door opens out to a scenic patio which can host tastings when the weather is fine, providing the perfect backdrop to taste the perfect drop.

What we like

Premium wines with a premium experience is what we love sharing with our groups, and these wines are some of the best you’ll taste on the Peninsula.

What we don’t like

This amazing cellar door is only open Saturdays and Sundays, but we can enough bring small groups travelling mid-week if we’re lucky.
