Cellar door at Pier 10
As a relatively small and family-run vineyard, cellar door and restaurant, Pier 10 delivers the kind of warm welcome you would expect. Although things around here get quite busy, the team manages to greet each of their guests as though they’re part of the extended family.
Your friendly cellar door guide, Craig, will make you feel right at home as he introduces you to the fantastic wines that Pier 10 has to offer. He takes pride in his work and it really shines through in the wonderful tastings he delivers.
Pier 10 produces a nice selection of wines, including Mornington Peninsula staples Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. What they’re really famous for, however, is their sparkling. Red, white, and rose sparkling varieties are all a part of their catalogue, each of which brings the kind of fun and fruity profile beloved bubbly is known for.
They manage to keep price levels reasonable at Pier 10 too; a far cry from some of the more expensive offerings that Red Hill boasts.
A gourmet selection of homemade food can be enjoyed in Pier 10’s on-site restaurant or at their cellar door bar, the latter with a more limited selection. Within their cosy restaurant they offer modern Australian cuisine, while at the bar you can pair your cellar door tastings with a selection of tapas and platters.

Whether taking some time to sit down for a meal, or simply taking in the scenery after enjoying some wine, the views at Pier 10 are certainly special. The estate has sweeping views of vines and grassy lawns, which can be enjoyed from their large deck area.
This is one of our favourite spots to take tours at the end of the day, creating a picture-perfect moment to relax after the perfect day of wine tasting.
What we like
Pier 10 started off as a weekend-hobby for duo Eric Baker and Sue McKenzie. A lot has changed since then, but it still retains that family-built atmosphere that’s so friendly and inviting. We love the welcoming vibes that always greet us at Pier 10, and enjoying the outdoor deck and beautiful views doesn’t hurt, either
What we don’t like
It’s hard to find something not to like about Pier 10 but given the tight space between cellar door and restaurant it means they quite often cannot accommodate medium to larger groups during lunch service so booking in that early morning slot is critical.
