A winery tour, tank and barrel tastings, a three-course lunch with wines to match, a personalised garden tour and a Q&A session with chefs Matt Stone and Jo Barrett, hosted by leading food writer Hilary McNevin. It’s all on offer as Oakridge Wine Compass and Pep Events collaborate to bring you a series of high-end events, tailored to create exclusive access to some of the best wineries in Victoria. The event is strictly limited to 20 tickets
Pep & Wine Compass
This is the inaugural event of Pep and Wine Compass. Hilary McNevin of Pep Events and Adam Nicholls of Wine Compass have collaborated to create experiences that allow their customers exclusive insight into the flavours, the expertise and the unique perspective of chefs, sommeliers, winemakers, owners and managers who make up the best of Victoria’s food and wine industry.

The Day:

Winery tour and barrel tasting with Tim Perrin
Winemaker Tim Perrin will begin the afternoon with a tour of the winery including barrel and tank tastings followed by a tasting of the Oakridge premium selection

Three-course meal matched with premium Oakridge wines
Matt Stone and Jo Barrett have taken the winery’s dining room to a new level and created a sharp menu based on ethical, sustainable, seasonal and local produce:
The menu will be based on:
- The best possible produce from their garden
- Other premium, seasonal food that is sourced from local suppliers’
The menu will be announced in the week leading up to the event

Meet Matt Stone and Jo Barrett
After lunch, Pep Events founder, Hilary McNevin will interview Matt and Jo about the approach and changes they’ve made to Oakridge. They’ll talk about the work they’ve done to become two of the most exciting chefs in Victoria right now and there’ll be opportunity for an interactive Q&A.

Garden tour with Matt Stone & Jo Barrett
Matt Stone and Jo Barrett will take you on a private tour of their kitchen garden at Oakridge. Both chefs are avid gardeners and use most of the produce in the restaurant. This is an exclusive tour only for Pep and Wine Compass.

Your host: Hilary McNevin
Hilary McNevin is a Melbourne-based freelance food and wine writer. For 15 years she worked front-of-house in restaurants in Australia and the UK before studying writing and editing at RMIT in Melbourne. She now draws from both industries to create personalised, exclusive events.
She regularly MC’s and hosts events, moderates panel discussion and her written work appears in Goodfood.com.au, SBS Food Online, The Australian, Winestate Magazine, The Weekly Review and Broadsheet.com.au. She co-authored The Atlantic at Home with chef Donovan Cooke in Nov, 2014; edited the award-winning Temples of BBQ by Lance Rosen, Aug 2015 and in 2008 she wrote Guide to Fish: Choosing and Cooking Sustainable Species (Fairfax Media)
Adam Nicholls from Wine Compass will also be in attendance on the day

Transport
There are 2 ticketing options, with or without transport. Transport will leave from Federation Square with a second pick-up along Maroondah Highway for those who live closer to Oakridge
